“We are the government, and the government is us.” is one of the main reasons why the war crimes and policy disasters committed by the U.S. Government are being constantly swept under the rug. I cannot count the number of times that I have been told: “Yes, war is hell, but we are creating a safer world.” How far is a person with a belief in creating a better world willing to go in order to see their vision of goodness realized? The numbers of dead never seems to serve as a deterrent.
